Type on a path
A great feature in Illustrator is the Type on a Path tool.
To make text align with a shape instead of on a straight line, first create a path using the Pen tool.
Click and hold the Type tool until the menu comes up. Select the Type on a Path tool, and click on the path.
You can then type anything you want into the new shape.
